SPRING HEALTH TIPS

Spring is finally upon us. The cold days of winter and short daylight hours are in the past. Here are some tips to stay healthy through the Spring season.

-Hydrate. Spring is a great time to look at your healthy habits in general and drinking plenty of water is an important part of a healthy routine.
-Protect your eyes. A certain amount of daily sunlight is healthy and beneficial, but it is very important to protect your eyes outdoors with sunglasses.
-Sleep enough. Start waking up earlier to have more time for the day’s activities since you’ll have more hours of daylight. If this is difficult, start by going to bed earlier, and avoid caffeine and large meals before bedtime.
-Clear clutter. Spring cleaning is a yearly ritual for many. Having an organized living space can decrease stress levels and promote restful and restorative feelings.
-Keep moving. A routine of regular exercise can improve fitness of both body and mind. Try to find something you enjoy doing, in a place and possibly with a group that you enjoy. This will help keep you motivated and promote a healthy mental attitude towards physical fitness.
-Eat fresh food. After the Holidays filled with comfort foods, Spring is a great time to fill up on fresh produce. Eating fruits and vegetables can lead to feeling refreshed and energized and give your body the vitamins and nutrients it needs to help improve your health.
